Game crashes when going to City of Arx or Human Kingdom

Whenever I teleport or simply take the stairs to the city of Arx or the Human Kingdom in Arx it crashes back to desktop. I have the latest patch.

Try resetting your sound to the Miles ??? whatever that is. I had that problem as well. Also be sure you have updated all your drivers. Also do a defrag on your system. This part of the game needs lots of ram. Be sure your virus scanner is off also. If the problem still persists post again and maybe Garrett can help, or one of the other dot members. My problem was just the sound and I set it to that one and all was well.

This happened to me several times as well. I think there is a small memory leak in the game. What I learned to do, was save before hand, just in case that happened and if it did, I'd re-boot my PC and that always fixed the problem. Check all the stuff Cm suggested first, then if it persists, try the re-boot.
