I am not sure where to go for this. But I have a new computer. Vampire will not run on it. It ran on my ancient computer, now it won't run on this one. It gives me the splash image, then gives me a black screen then it crashes to desktop. I have crash logs but I cannot make sense of them. Is it my video card? I just have an intel video card. I am not sure if that is the cause of the problem and if I should indeed purchase a new one? _________________ "What are you gonna do? Release the dogs?! Or the bees?! Is it the ingrated one?
Then proabaly yes it is your video chipset, are you sure your drivers are up to date?
There are some really good deals now on video cards, but Dx10 is coming.
If you have any intention of upgrading to Vista and the new dx10 games, which are reportedly NOT backward compatable, i.e. dx9 or less won't work.
I don't know if that is final decsion about it, not much offical info about dx10 yet, it maybe possible to for ATI or NVidia to create software that allows dx10 games to run on less cards.
So if you answered yes to upgrading, then trying to wait till Q4 for the dx10 cards maybe your best bet.
You could use your old card now to get by, since you said it worked with Bloodlines. |
