I have a small question, when learning the level 2 one handed sword fighting skill, that dude tells me to "spin around" to confuse my target. how on earth do i do that?

keep the ACTION key (lmb or ctrl) pressed, attack by pressing CursorUp and hit CursorUp again, shortly before the attack-move ends.
If your timing is exact enough, you can trigger a Combo-Attack, with three different strikes this way.
You can also test it safely, when no enemies are around!

The combo attacks with one-handed swords are really, really buggy in Gothic.
You also have to time your attacks PERFECTLY.
But you can have faster, but weaker, attacks if you use LEFT and RIGHT attacks in combonation to your UP attacks.
This is better because if you're hitting your enemy, then they are not hitting you. |

well yeah, the stronger the attack the more time it takes to do it, but I guess it depends on your target. it does look really cool though!
