Gothic 3: E3 screenshots @ Gamestar.de

Gamestar.de has posted several new screenshots of Gothic 3 from the E3, that has opened today.

Several are the same as seen on Multiplayer.it, but there are some new among them too. For the first time we see the demo-hero with a sword and shield. Other screenshots show several enemies, like scavengers, trolls and an alligator and there's also a screenshot with magic! It's only a fireball, but still worth the look.

Oblivion is fab. Just wondering as I'm a Gothic fan as well.

The Gamestar played it for an hour. They say itīs coming along nicely, is close to alpha status, has combat relatively similar to Oblivion (plus finishing move), absolutely spectacular spell effects, and mass combat, for example 8 humans vs 8 orcs. They think G3 is on a good way to beat Oblivion (which is currently the best RPG according to all German print mags).

Lets face it - its nice to have both Oblivion and G3 around. G3 and Oblivion expansions will be forthcoming - all great stuff.

Innos shall be pleased. I know I am

Gamestar.de also has a new video. Lousy quality but very interesting.

Other videos:

I have to admit, I haven't had as high expectaions since.. Gothic 2, hehe. Still, the Oblivion comparison in terms of combat is making me a bit sceptical - I prefer Gothics old combat system to Oblivions combat system any day. It takes skills compared to just loads of clicking. I hope you get the option to turn on old style controls and do it the old way.
