I voted both just to mess with the system. I guess I am a little chaotic and rebellious. I also don't see how sex should factor into forum discussions. I see it mainly as a way to figure out who to spam with a million e-mails and pms telling them how clever they are, cool they are, attractive they are  .
If you can't tell what my gender is then why should it matter? You don't need a roadmap to tell men from women on a forum.

I agree AND disagree, I agree when you say that it's not important to really know if a person is a man or a woman... if i like you this is indipendant from what's your gender and so if there is the option in the profile i'll use it, if not i don't care.
However i disagree when you say that this is only a way to fill an e-mail account of messages you pretty well described... or a way to spam... here we are (as i already said in others posts) in a multi-etnical multi-language multi-minds little universe and this is the Absolutely-Off-Topic-Forum... if a boy or a girl wants to talk about his/her gender i'll watch the posts and (if i have something to say) i'll join the topic or (if i'm agains this form of talking) i'll stand silent...
OK, i know also that the world is big and somewhere there are spammers ready to hit but, hey!, i'm always optimist!!!
