I played the demo of both Ether's and was pretty impressed but didn't get around to the full games. Nival also did Evil Islands and Rage of Mages, all of which had some good points. The Silent Storm demo is outstanding and I'll be picking it up as soon as someone remembers to distribute it here.

According to all the buzz I´ve heard the critical question is if you liked Jagged Alliance 2. If so Silent Storm is a no brainer.

I liked JA2 a lot, and I like Silent Storm a lot, too. It hasn't got the complex NPC interaction of JA2, but it's a lot of fun nevertheless.

Silent Storm is a great game(Turn-based! Yeah!) but I miss the ressource managment from games like JA or X-com. I hope they include that in a possible successor.
Etherlords 2 is a very entertaining game, aswell. Especially if you like the trading card game Magic the Gathering.
