Found another damn bug!
I was just given the quest by Edwina @ Ald'ruhn mages guild to get the detect creatues potion from Skink-in-trees-shade. So I went an did this quest while exploring a little and doing some of the main storyline.
Now I get back with the potion and she is asking me what happened at huleel's hut. I visited this place, but she is acting as if she has sent me on a quest to go there. So I tell her what happened and she gives me a reward.
I give her the potion after this and complete that quest. But now when I clicked duties she is talking about a book called Chimarvamidium. She says that it wasnt what she wanted and I need to go put it back wherever I got it so no one notices. But I never even gave her this book!!!
All I can think is that the huleel quest (Which I was never even given) messed something up. 
So basically, my question is, where am I meant to put the book back? |

Hey, I'd like to know this myself, and this is definitely a bug. My story is a bit different though.
I had already taken care of Huulee's(sp) hut before ever getting the quest. The hut is outside of town, the one with the wild scamp tearing up the place. I should add that I didn't get the quest to check it out, I just stumbled into it.
This was on the way to talk to the Ashlanders up northwest in that camp that starts with A. Anyway...
I got back to Ald'Ruhn MUCH later, and went to the mages guild to see what was up (I had just saved when I arrived in town). Edwina asked me to find some rare Dwemer book for her (not the one you're talking about). I asked around and I got a few suggestions for book stores in other towns. Meanwhile, I happened into the tavern across from the guild, and got a thief's quest to get some "Tanto" from the mages guild while they were away. I went in and used up all of my opening scrolls before I could find the right chest. So I restarted from my save.
THIS TIME when I went into the mages guild, she didn't ask about the rare book at all, but instead asked me to return this Chimarvamidium book to the mage's guild in Vivec, and to put it back exactly where I found it. I never took it in the first place!
So long story short... Where exactly in the mage's guild in Vivec am I to put this book? This is definitely a bug. |

Talk to the guild guide (teleporter) on top of Ald'Ruhn Mages guild (or any other guide in other cities) and get to Vivec Guild of Mages (Foreign Quarter Plaza btw).
FYI the book comes from one of the private rooms in Mages Guild in Vivec The room is locked with about 50 lock.
In order to return it, talk to the High Elf dressed in yellowish clothes (forgot her name) and tell her about the book and give it back to her. Now return to Ald'Ruhn - 2 minutes All done. |

You dont have to talk to the elf to give it back. That might even be bad because doing that lets her know you stole it, and you were told to put it back in the same place so no one knows where you got it from.
In the Vivec Mages guild, there is a private quarters of a woman. She has a closet (Its actually a small room), with a chest inside that is locked. You will know that you have found the right chest because since you didnt take the book in the first place there will still be one in there! |

I was given the quest for the Dwarven Book but when I returned she mentioned the book above. Asked me to return it so I exited the dialog and reinitiated dialog. Clicked on the referenced words again and was rewarded for finishing the quest. strange. |

Its probably because the book was still in the chest, even though she gave you a duplicate. That quest is realy messed up.
