Ultima X Preview at OGaming

There's a <a href="http://www.ogaming.com/content/previews-ultimaxpreview.php" target="_blank">preview of Ultima X: Odyssey</a> at Online Gaming Network. We'll certainly learn a lot more about this upcoming MMORPG after the official media event (and yes, we will be there in person).

Has Ultima 9 been patched up enough to be playable? I'd like to get that one sometime if it is working.

Sure it has.

Be sure to get;
http://www.ultima-ascension.com/downloads.html
This makes it very well playable, though not 100% bug free (it is easy to break side plots/quests if you dont do them in the order presented).

I can reccomend Patch 1.19
http://reconstruction.voyd.net/index.php?page=project&type=fanpatch
found at The reconstruction

iy you are a long term fan of the series and care very much about U9 being the 'Last Ultima as Richard Garriot promised his fans and ties op all loose ends from previous ultima's'; install the Dialogue pack. This only works without the voice overs. Though the Dialogue pack is very well written I would recomend it for replaying U9, not playing it the first time.

Furthermore, I would recomend the use of the
Ultima IX power tools
http://www.geocities.com/uix_powertools/or the
Gamestate.ini editor
http://members.iinet.net.au/~larcombe/u9edit.htm

Good luck,

Parcival
