| Valley of Mines in Chapter 1 |

Howdy,
I was wondering if anyone tried to get to the Valley of Mines without a key?
That is without knocking the paladins at the door. Because I was doing some Lara Croft style exploration and got into the valley with my level 14 mercenary, in Chapter 1. Then I got out by climbing on the side of the door guarded by the two Paladins. I only killed two young wolves there and didnt go farther yet (dont wanna risk screwing up my save games).
It's possible to walk in places where the character doesn't want to move by using the walk mode (shift + walk).
Anyway I have a question :
What's the big deal about completing every quest possible and making the highest level possible in chapter 1 ?

No you can,t ..
i didnt try going into the VOM in chapter but i tried a same thing! i,ve tried to get out from the ship to the shore in city of khorinas but the result was some wrotes wihich is"go to you,re mammy chicken"and so i don,t remmper well i think it,s the same iof going to the VOM and don,t worry it won,t damage any save slot!!

It's recommended so that you're a decent level when you leave for the VoM, that's all. Level 9 is sufficient. I went in at level 4 and got my behind kicked.

Of course its possible to survive at a lower level because Chapter 2 is
really designed so that you can avoid the BIG TROUBLE like the Orcs.
However, you should at least be able to kill Snappers with reasonable
efficiency. If you can do that, then you can handle the demands
of Chapter 2 VOM

You,re level is 14!! IT,S good level for one who want to go to chapter two!!
If you want to go to the VOM you must can kill TWO orcs wariors or more and you must kill 3 dragon snappers together cuz i can say that you,ve got a strong npc(charcter) cus i got to the VOM once when my level were 13or15 i don,t remmber but i kill all the orcs and got out with a level 20 or maybe more...
It was a long time since i have finished gothic2 3 times so i can,t remmber...
I am telling the best way to get the highst benfit for the player who got to the VOM with a high level!!

Well, you have to be VERY sneaky, lol! I think I have cleared evertything except the dragons and the snowy area and boy, am I SICK of the orcs ! My character is level 26.
I think I won't bother with the snowy area and go on to chapter 3. The world doesnt seem so alive after it's cleared, you even begin to wonder what the fuss is all about in chapter two when there are no orcs anywhere to attack the castle, and yet all the NPC's are still peeing their pants
