How are you handling the beginning of Gothic 2 in regards to our main character?
Are you planning a save game import feature, or do we just get a generic version of the Gothic 1 hero? |

If you read the site, it stated that the barrier is destroyed by a large earthquake, thus most of the prisoners escape, but one person is left trapped in an underground temple for six months, living on little more than water. _________________ Make good choices. |

*sigh*
I didn't ask that... I know how the games story goes, but what I do not know (and what I directed at TomTom) was how it was going to be handled.
Are we importing our save game so that our character is the same as in the end of Gothic, or are they going to give us a generic version of that character to start with...
Big difference |

As far as I know it's a generic char. No save game import. _________________ Jaz |

Someone with this situation would become very weak and forget his
abilities but what about his armor and weapons and all the stuff? _________________ =Member of the RPGDot Shadows=

The same question was asked when Ultima Underworld II nearly finished.
And I think the best way for a RPG to start again as a newbee and not as a god like hero. _________________

Offical answers are always better though.
edit: Well since someone else edited my original post, I'll guess I'll just edit back in my comment. (such fun)

This isn't UU2.
You'll be fighting against dragons which are far more powerful than the crazed followers and "mini-demons" you fight towards the end of the original game, so starting over, or starting with a weak character would only be backwards progression.

Sorry for not being able to give you an official answer Llama.
Apart from that it's too early to take anything for given yet. _________________ Jaz |

Theres nothing they can do about normal acquired stuff. As far as the plot-associated armor and weapon(eg. Ore Armor and Uriziel) is concerned, mabe they fell in the lave, or rusted out from all the damage received in the last battle.
The food and potions were probably consumed over the months. The runes and artifacts were probably left in a pile by a campfire before more of the temple collapsed over it.
Its a miracle he was ever able to carry so much crap without a big sack dragging behind him. _________________

LoL!!!!!!!
He probably ate all the Apocalyptic Templars and most of Cor Calom just in the first month. And the "sketch" probaly took care of all the rest of his needs.
Oh I should join the friars club! _________________

as you can read here (although it is the e3 version) there is no importing of the hero from gothic 1 or whatsoever.¨
I believe almost for a certain that there is a whole new or re-newed stats system, and imporing wouldn't fit so good.
AFAIK they also want to make it very independant of Gothic 1, for the benefit of new players. _________________ Thou shallt not kill |

When you're trapped underground for 6 months, you'd probably throw all your weapons and armors aside. Who'd want to carry all those stuffs when there's nothing to fight? And he probably couldn't carry those equipments with him as he escape. That could explains how he got rid of his uber sword and ore armor. As for losing his skill, hunger, lack of practices, lost of brain cells, and most importantly, the lack of swamp weeds. Those all could result in how new here returns to his newbieself. What logic, I'm such a genius. |

What doesn't make any sense, is the start of the story on Gothic 2. In the ending of gothic 1, the hero says: "when i returned to daylight, the barrierhad fallen, but for me, the adventure had only just begun"
Now that doesnøt fit with the fact that he is trapped in there .. unless he means that he returned to daylight AFTER surviving down there _________________ Thou shallt not kill |
