I, Sveinung and many other on this board, mostly from Scandinavia are really dissapointed now. We thought the game was supposed to be out on the 30 November. That was the release both in Norway and here in Denmark. Now, you really has to tell us when the game should be out here in Denmark, Norway and the rest of Scandinavia. Many of these people, including myself has been wating for this game, with great patience for a long time now. I think you owe us at least to say, when you expect the game to be out. In an earlier post you said maybe in next week. Please give us a straight answer now! By the way, Betafon in Denmark always get the latest games first here in Denmark, and that's were I buy my games, just so you know. Perhaps it will be out earlier there!! |

I totally agree with you herrx! Gothic was supposed to be out now! I have been waiting for over half a year and I can't wait much longer now! Therefore I have ordered the game through http://www.amazon.co.uk. I hope I get it very soon in the mail. |

Piranha Bytes sold the worldwide publishing rights to the european publisher "Egmont Interactive" shortly after development of GOTHIC started (1997).
By the time GOTHIC was released in germany (March 2001), Egmont Interactive quit the business of publishing computer games.
Maybe this was the reason for nearly non-existant marketing (in Germany) and somewhat disappointing sales...
It was also clear at this moment, that they wouldn't publish it outside germany. Finding another publisher for GOTHIC, as you know, took very long.
Again, PB could do nothing to speed things up.
Several month later Egmont signed the deal with Xicat.
Now XICAT are the only ones to tell when (or if) the game will be released in the different territories.
PB doesn't have any influence on where and when GOTHIC will be released!
Yes, this sucks a lot, but that's the way things are.

afaik, Björn is a developer, working at PIRANHA BYTES.
The developers can only give you information about the content of the game, bugs, hints, general support...
Publishing/Distribution of GOTHIC is done by XICAT.
If you want to know when it will be released, you have to ask XICAT. |

No offence intended but you guys got to back off on Bjorn & PB. They have little to no control over distribution. They signed a deal with a publisher and it is they who are at fault.
