Sierra's FTP server has a playable demo (190MB) of Enclave, a hack'n'slash RPG port from the XBox. |

If the PC version has more opportunities to save a game than my Xbox version, it might be worth to dl the demo. Graphics, music and level design are great, gameplay is nice, difficulty is, ahem, somewhat high. On the other hand... why would I need save slots? Didn't need them so far. I'm patient . _________________ Jaz |

Bit on the shallow side. Better games available on the PC, even if Enclave's graphics do make them look old ('cause they are ). Very pretty game. Shallow combat system. No model/skin damage (weird in this genre). |

You should have seen the PC version they presented at the GC last year. It was a bit... gorier than the demo. _________________ Jaz |

Meaning, they reduced the game's goriness* before release, perhaps to appeal to a broader audience.

*If I remember that right there was dismemberment (not unlike Die by the Sword's ) in the version I saw at the GC _________________ Jaz |

That doesn't make any sense. It will still get an "M" rating. Toning down the violence and still having an "M" rating will hurt the game's sales, not help.
That said, I don't recall any version of the game having skin/model damage. If all you're referring to is more blood...that could just be a slider in the Options menu (retail release). |

I'm sure I saw dismembered and extremely gory bodies in the PC version they had shown at the Games Convention last year. Those may have been 'ambient' bodies, however. The GC was in August, so my memory may well be failing me.
As for toning down the violence... this is pure speculation on my part now. Enclave is a Euro game, and perhaps they shied the additional effort of producing a special version for Germany, so they left the damage skins out of the finished product to make it easier customizable for the German market (which is one of the biggest markets for games in Europe). A game may have a little blood (although even that is edited out of most German versions), but when it comes to beheadings, dismemberment etc., it's sure to be blacklisted (sometimes even before release) which will damage sales (as there may not be any advertising for the game in question). _________________ Jaz |

Or they could have just edited it out for the demo. This wouldn't be the first toned down demo. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!
