| Game Shuts down When I Kill sleeper |
|
When i reach the sleeper and kill it
( by stabing the ork shamen hearts)
the game Always crashes as I Stab the last heart, and im back at the desk top,
This is quite frustrating as it had taken me a age to kill all those novices and the 4 demon flying things,
I am using v1.8j
so no patch will help as its already up to date
if any 1 knows which file may be causing this problem please help me edit it ,
or if any 1 has a save file from directly after killing the sleeper and any video or whatevere happens is done playing,
could you please send me a copy @

There's nothing but a video afterwards, anyway. If you made a full install, the video should be on your HDD. You'll need a Bink player to see it, though (it's in .bik format).

You know - - - - if you think about this for a moment,
If the video files end in .BIK and the game of Gothic can play them, - - - -
then there must be a .BIK file player (bink) in the game - - - - - - - -
and there is. In marvin mode type:- play video
followed by one of the following:-
CREDITS
EXTRO
GREATPRAYER
INTRO
LOGO1
OREHEAP
PLAYEROUT
The last one is obviously the ending video,

all of the other videos in the game run fine, and it is a full install But i still crashes when i try n kill the sleeper
and if i use a cheat to start chapter 6 by charging up the starnge sword i found in the sleepers cave from the ore mound Nobody has a mission for me
ive edited gothic.ini so all refereances to videos are dissabled but it still tries to play the in game cinematics, and i still crash,
please could some 1 send me a save file saved after killing the sleeper and having viwed the video.
Id like to be a member of the new camp mercaneries like i already am but if any 1 is willing to send me a save file I wouldnt mind all that much to which camp i belonged to ( i just wish to be able to cary on playing)

Jaz already told you that there is nothing after killing the Sleeper. You see the video and the credits, then the game closes itself and you are back to the desktop.
Download the Bink player or watch the video the way Wulf said.

I have just had another recap' of Shambles words,
I did some experimenting with this (uriziel) thing a while back and i found
there a certain "game triggers" linked,
I hope Shambles has'nt INSERTED the sword (he said "strange sword" and most of us know this has to be taken back to Xardas! ("nobody has a mission
for me")? then "URIZIEL" has to be "OREHEAPED" - then he can carry on - -
(uriziel charged) holds a ending (video) trigger ? ? Problem might be this?

your telling me that i have compleated the game. and by the way xardas is in the tower even though hes passed out in the sleepers templ if u teleport there then use the orc teleport to teleport back.
he gives u a ket to a chest in the sunken tower then u can go n get good armor and see the magician of fier in the new camps ore mound then chapter 6 begins i fail to see how the game can possibly end at the point of killing the sleeper

also i can continue to play chapter 6 this way but as i havent killed the sleeper that mission is still active and no 1 will give me any other missions,
ive tried to email prianah bites but the suport email account no longer exists

Sorry to hear your trouble with this sleeper thing. You most definately have
got a "wronged" mission hear. Look, if you want i will post you the 3 uriziel
insert codes and you could try each of them, to compare with your uriziel,
if it would help.

heres what happend u see,
i found the "strange sword " on a table and teleported to see xardas who told me was uzrelize
i went on and tried to kill the sleepere but as i said i keep crashing so i decided to try something els and went to the new camp where i found the magician of fier.
together we recharged the sword and now the gem is glowing and xardas will make a rune out of it if i wish.
But the sleeper mission still needs to be compleated even though chapter 6 has begun,
I cannot think of a nother way of fixing this othere than some 1 sending me a save file saved at the bigining of chapter 6 where the sleeper is already dead. or even prior to chapter 6 but also with the sleeper mission compleated.
I cannot see how the sword could be at a fault
But I am very thank full for all your attempts at helping me :)

Sorry, i hav'nt got any save games, i cleaned out gothic a couple of months
back.
Killing the sleeper IS the end, (he cannot be killed by the way) his ani'
file show he is asleep, hurt or dead (asleep!) then the .bik
You can't kill the sleeper and then "go on to chapter 6" ? you will have to go back to a point earlier in the game (yes. yes.- a saved game)
I have seen several downloadable savegames on the forums but not that far into the game.
Good luck, and if you do manage it, come back to this thread and let's
know about it.

thanx but no use i have restarted the game a number of times from begining using difrent camps as my starting ground but still no luck with it.
just wont buy any piranah bites stuff again i guess,
there suport is terrible without even the most basic email option available , It realy is a shame as i was enjoying the game as well.
Never mind i spose we all live and learn ,
i will be shure to post the fact's i have found out about there company on a few of my web sites that would concern it,
