Crypt, level 4, sealed coffin lid help

Ok, I've gotten the shield and killed everything in here. However, there is one casket that I can't open. When I click on it, it says it's "too heavy", or some such thing. I checked the walkthrough, and it says I need to pull a lever to open it. I've found a lever on the upper part of the chapel-place, but pulling it doesn't seem to do anything. It it a timed thing? Or is this not the correct lever?

The lever is behind the casket where you got the shield and it is not timed.
