That room ticked me off. There's a serious bug - you have to make it through all the spawn waves without reloading. ie., if you save the game in the room and reload that save because you died (or went to have dinner for that matter), it never completes all the spawns and you are permanently stuck.

If this is the case, you just have to load an old save like I did. When it works properly, after surviving several waves of spawns, the mage will come down to the ground to fight and you can step onto the platform that lowered and ride it up.

People have different tactics, from fighting it out to running around in circles trying to avoid getting hit until the platform comes down.

I didnt encounter this bug
the trial part in general i had a blast completing. very frenetic i died about 30 times.

I wonder how much experience you get if you kill one of the archer elders as opposed to jumping up there?: he has a lot of hit points i bet you get a lot.

archer elders

the archer elders are worth 600,000 XP, don't know how much that mage in the last room is worth...couldn't get him, but the elder in the first room was 600k and female mage in the second stage was 450,000 xp....very tedious, very hard to kill...even if you're decked out with tons of fireballs

Oh i tried but i gave up after about half an hour. I even reached a point where i was right near him close, and he couldnt shoot at me. But I figured it would have been more efficient killing rats.... that is a lot of exp though.

Hi there, i am in the room with all the pillars (trial of elders), there's an elder archer firing at me.... i have fired at him with my bow for over an hour, and he still has 3/4 of his health left..

What do i need to do, i have read the above posts, but i still am unsure what to do...

It won't let me out the room, so i guess i need to kill this guy?

Any help appreciated.

u have to jump the pillars towards the elder, when u get in front of him, start fighting him, when he backs up by one of your attacks quickly jump forward and he'll dissapear, do the same for the other ones

I can't do it . The wizard don't want to come to me. How many waves should I survive?

I even reloaded older savegame in the previous room with 'bridges'...

Ok. If I understand, I should kill everyone (without saving) and than wizard should come down. Than I can kill him or go up?

I'll try...

The weird thing about that pillar jumping puzzle is the first jump onto the horizontal piece seems to be the hardest and the rest was fairly easy. If your near the piece you don't jump high enough to get on it. Crazy. The whole trial was pretty interesting but I too encountered that save bug Dhruin mentioned. I ended up having to use revive a couple times to get out of there.
