I don't speculate about the release date. As long as there is no official announcement we just won't know.

yeah.. your right. AGAIN!!.. but it is possible, and it makes me happy to think it might be this date 
so il gon on thinking it and it was on a RPGdot news post and i trust them buggers with my life, now.

The newsbit has been updated. June 13th seems to be the retailers' UK release date, Australian release in July. We'll see.

June 13th...Jaz why did they post this and where did they get this info from..its just that all the other websites have made release dates up from nowhere and i wouldnt expect the RPGdot team to do this..?

It means that 'Atari' is making the deal on the sales to retailers for real now. Soon Atari = Infogrames will start an advertising campaign und an announcement, pertain E3 or, as one said, after Matrix is over and out.
With all the heavy hit titles coming for the fall to christmas season; I would get it it out and sell it before that. Of course, Gothic 2 is also a great big hit in its own right.
I hope Rise of Nations is good (that is strategy title). Deus Ex 2 action/RPG big hit coming in September, end of year is Thief 3 (sneaker) and Doom 3 (horror).

Sooo.... are these dates official? I see that jowood still has Q2/2003 as their official release date so that tosses a bit of confusion into the mix. Lastly, is there any difference between the U.K. version and the U.S. version? The sooner the better I say. |

According to Pirhana Bytes there are no differences between the different versions.
The usual rule of the UK release being more stable probably doesnt apply here either since the game has been out for so long in Germany, all the bugs are probably ironed out already.
One thing for sure though, I bet you get it in that nice DVD packaging you guys have now. Us in the US just still get the crappy cardboard nastyness.

Warcraft III: the frozen throne.
Age Of Mythology expansion.
and many more i guess..

Dont want to confuse the poor console ppl

Worried the PC people will think the games are "Console quality" and not buy them.
Whatever their reasoning, its stupid. When I came over to the US from the UK, they had just started using the DVD boxes, and I loved it. Then I had to go back to the cardboard stuff again. Everyone here that has seen the UK style PC game boxes says they are MUCH nicer.
I hope the US publishers just give up on the horrible carboard boxes (even the smaller ones) and just use DVD instead. They are so much nicer...

Well I meant all games, not just Gothic 2.
But yes, I agree. I'd rather have it in a crappy box than not at all...
