I think that Infogrames just would like to check if it were worth it to buy the rights of Gothic2 and thats why it took Jowood so long to find a partner !!!

Someone just wrote this on the official jowood forum :
"I 've just emailed to someone from infogrames (Infogrames Benelux, [detailed contact information removed; Gorath] Eindhoven, The Netherlands)
She replied to me that the official release dat is 13 june. "

It's not a merger. JoWooD just sold the (advertising, distribution...) rights for the game to Infogrames. Now th elatter need to do all the stuff JoWooD couldn't, which isn't done in a few days.

I think I remeber that Gothic English came out 9 months later after the German version. Using that as a model, G2 was released in German 11-2002. So 9 months from 11-2002 is around 8-2003.
