Well, here I am at the beginning of chapter 3 and Yberion needs some healing herbs from the swamps. Great! I already scoured the swamp and killed all of the Swamp Sharks... Uh oh. I used up all of the herbs and they didn't grow back! Ahhhhh, he's doomed!

That's my point - after I swept the swamp in the last chapter there weren't any more. *duh*

Another of thoose times when I consider it to be ok to cheat.
Use the console and spawn a few herbs.
Dont spawn more than neccessary thou. If you do, you will become a cheater.

Best Regards

The healing hearbs grow all over the place... Although not in as large quantaties as in the swamp and you will have to do quite a bit of running and searching if you want to find herbs of the correct quality without cheating... But it is possible if you *really really* want to play it straight...

The weed dude under Kolom sells 5 of the herbs you need.

Just go buy them.

Exactly! Whenever I am stuck in the game, I think "There must be a way!" However unlikely it must be, there is always a way. You don't have to reload just because you solve a quest the "wrong" way. Remind me of Deus Ex.

I couldn't hurt them either, but I lured one near one of the templars that guards the camp & he killed it.

Basic rule, whatever seems to be invulnerable can either:
a) Be killed in another chapter
b) needs stronger weapons to be killed.

In the end I took out swampsharks in two hits...

Swampsharks (and most everything else in the game) is easy prey to the Battlebow of War....you can get this weapon fairly early in the game from Scar, but the difficulty in getting it depends on how you get it from Scar.

(Do him the same way you impressed one of the Baals, unless you feel like superman and think you can beat him in battle--which you really have to be to beat that guy)

As a mage, I killed the swampsharks in chapter 2 with just the fireball spell. They are very succeptable to fire. The first shot is free, you can prep the spell as long as you want. You have to try to isolate one swamp shark so you don't get ganged up on; one is bad enough

Make sure you have a location where you can't be reached; such as the top of the house in the swamp. There are a couple of stumps large enough to take refuge on, too. Unfortunately, they will often sit right below you and Gothic seems to aim using your feet as the origin point; you can't shoot straight down even if you are looking down on something as large as an elephant. You have to lure it out enough to get a "lock". Actually, a long bow might do a little damage.

Make sure you have plenty of mana potions!

I killed one Swampshark after it got stuck in a tree.

On the whole you have to be very patient. If I wasn't a mage I couldn't have done it this early. If I had "storm of fire" or "rain of fire" then it would have been easier.
