The sword discussion made me wonder (for some strange reason), how many of you own a gun? And if so, what is it? Now, I don't own a gun, but I get to shoot a rifle in the cadets. This is the L98 A1 or the Cadet GP. One of the variants of the SA 80
Also, later on in the year, once I complete the course, I will be able to fire something a bit more beefy. The LSW or the light support weapon. Should be a laugh.

I have two firearms. A Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver with the extended 6" barrell that my father carried while he was a police officer.
This picture is close, but mine is an older model that has a wooden grip.
I also have an old 30.06 bolt-action rifle that was manufactored during WW1, I think. 1917 or somewhere around there. I'd have to go unlock the safe it's in and rumage around to get it out and check. And I'm too lazy to do that.
I mostly just use it for deer hunting and practice shooting. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

No. While I recognise and understand the interest in them many people have, I don't agree with gun ownership by the general populace. _________________ Charlie Dobbie

i own a air pistol hehe but i dont own a real fire arm, i dont feel the need to...
Not like the king of englands gonna come knocking at my door trying to take over my country is it!?
EDIT: King of england was the term i used because it was the excuse america used to say everyone had a right to own a firearm, that act was placed soon after the American Revolution, didnt want Mr King George coming back for more I guess _________________ "There are many questions which fools can ask that wise men cannot answer."

I dont agree with guns either. I think they should be strictly for the military.
I know someone who has a large collection of millitary armaments, including a fully functional tripod mounted mini-gun. _________________ IMHO my opinion is humble |

i own gun (TT 7.62) and hunting rifle (Baykal 12),the real question is do you cary your gun(those who own) with you,i dont.
There are two typs of permissions for carying and possesing guns, first type is far more dangerous then second and i dont approve it.
Just imagine your self in in some conflict situation (you have your gun) what will you do just draw your gun and say bang or draw your gun and shoot,(not drawing gun is not an option) at my opinion if carrying gun what ever you do you are lossing. |

While I don't own any and don't ever plan on owning any firearms, I feel that they should be ownable by civilians. At least as long as the military has them.
However some people with guns, like a co-worker of mine who owns about enough to outfit a platoon, are just scary.

Possession of a gun in Bermuda is punishable by a MINIMUM of 10 years in jail ... no exceptions, no questions, no early parole. 10 years. If you were stupid enough to be carrying one during a robbery or while committing any other crime the minimum = min for other crime + 10. So, needless to say, I do not own a gun. Oh yeah, air guns count!
@Val - I *love* venison ... in most all its forms (except over cooked). My father in law is a big deer hunter and when we lived in the States we never ate beef ... just bambi. Bambi burgers, bambi roasts, bambi steaks ... YUM!
I've never gone hunting, but I am an okay shot when shooting at targets. Have you ever gone skeet shooting? Is it worth it? _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=
