NWN 2 - Two Prestige Classes Revealed @ NWN 2 Warcry |
|
Papermonk, NWN 2 fan on assignment for <a href="http://www.nwn2news.net">NWN 2 News</a> at A-KoN, had a chance to sit down and talk with NWN 2 developers. In the discussion, two new PrCs were revealed: <blockquote><em><ul><li>Eldrich Knight
<br><li>Warpriest</li></ul>
<br>
<br>And I'll give more detail later about the whole thing - but, wow. Just.. wow. The videos, the shots - none of that begins to do the game justice and it will rock your world.</em></blockquote>Read it <a href="http://nwn2.warcry.com/#54915">at Warcry</a> and participate on the <a href="http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=484425&forum=95&sp=0#4161063" target="_blank">official forums</a>. |

There's some new developments on NWN2 that says that any multiplayer play will require all players to have a copy of the area mod for walkmeshes. A huge blow for PW's and MP in general. I hope email gets fixed soon |

Just send it name [at] rpgdot.com, Lucky Day. Individual emails work but our submission address uses a group and the groups are broken. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

This is the thread that Darren Monahan created in response to the revelation that players will have to have a local copy of a module to play on a PW. Here's what he wrote as well:
quote:
Hello everyone,
We just wanted to clear up some rumors and/or misconceptions about what a client will need in order to play a multiplayer or persistent world game in NWN2.
We are making every effort to prevent the need for the server(s) to distribute scripts, dialogs, or any other proprietary data to the client so that it can be examined or reverse engineered.
The key thing we need to distribute to the client is the walkmesh for the level, which is data that tells the game how and where people can walk, as well as pathfinding information. This doesn't include scripts or any other text assets.
Hope that clears things up a little bit.
Thanks!

The discussion is around 8 pages right now but can be followed from that thread.

As both a PW and a campaign player, I can honestly say that the PW crowd is the biggest bunch of worry warts on the planet. There is time to get this sorted out and the fact that it's new to US doesn't mean that it's new to THEM. There's not a guy at OE who doesn't know how vibrant the PW community is and they have stated over and over that they are supportive of and hear this community.
Personally, I think they need to infuse the Biobsidian boards with Valium until after the game is released. It seems like every week there's some "OH MY GOD THE GAME IS SO GONNA SUXOR BECAUSE XXX IS MISSING OR THEY DIDN"T INCLUDE THIS FEATURE" type of issue. I have faith that these guys want to turn out a quality game and that they are indeed aware of the questions and concerns of all the different aspects of the community. |

Uh... could someone enlighten a poor non-tech/modding noob as to what this means?
Just the short, sweet version |
