Arx Fatalis Review at GIN |
|
Game Industry Network took on the task to write a review of Arx Fatalis, and the final outcome is a mixed bag. While they certainly like the game, they consider it flawed:

You might think by reading all the negatives that I did not enjoy the game, which would be wrong. I was disappointed by it, but I still had a pretty good time. If the game were held for another few months to fix the bugs and annoyances, it might have been a lot better. I was intrigued by the game, but constantly put off because not enough thought was put into the basics. Of the four people who I know started playing it, I am the only one who finished before deleting it. If you are the one in four hardcore RPGers, then Arx Fatalis is for you. Otherwise, just wait for the next Morrowind expansion.
Rating is 3.5/5. |

That dosen't say much for him or his three friends.Everybody is entitled to an opinion but I wonder sometimes on what these so-called reviewers base their opinions on.I,for one, hold these reviewers in about the same regard as I do movie reviewers, top models and toothaches. Their a fact of life, but who needs them. |

I see that the reviewer does not do justice to the game in some of his complains (e.g. one has at least to read the book about dragon scales, damage feedback interface *is* available to those that develop the proper skill (intuition, if I am not mistaken)), but I do agree with the reviewer, that the game should have been longer in production and polishing to appeal for wide audience.
P.S. A-ha, I see that Val's request's for dustinctive 'edit' button have been answered almost to the letter :) _________________ - Merz |
