Here are the details. No idea how to solve this problem.

I'm not sure, but was your first install completely removed from the hard drive? I can remember problems arising because the Gothic Uninstall function didn't work all too well.

Does anyone know what a cyclical redundancy error is? When installing, I make it to about 70-75% but then it locks up while installling speech.vdf. It will ask me for the cd1 and then tell me it's the wrong label.
It's really been bugging me since I played in on my system before and now I can't. Any help would be appreciated.

FiReMaKeR: ya that problem happens sometimes the thing is that all the files from gothic are deleted but in the OS registry its still in and probably something of gothic is still there so u probably will solve the problem by downloading some freeware or a trial program from internet what cleans registry and after cleaning it try to install i am 90% sure it will install correctly after that cos i had those problems sometimes with another games also

Detailed instructions how to manually unistall Gothic have been posted in this forum before. Use the search function.
