Lost the rebel camp key!!! |
|
I got sidetracked way into the deep crypts after getting the Shield, and somewhere I must have lost the rebel camp "key." (That shiny object thing - whatever it was.) Now I can't pick the locks, and I can't find the key, and I don't have a recent enough save with the key. So I can't get in to trade the Shield for Krahoz (or Zohark, whichever it is.) Am I completely out of luck?!! |

The rebel camp key looks like a small dagger and will not go on your key chain. Check your inventory again and see if it is in there somewhere. If not go to level four of the caves and see if there are a group of rebels standing around near the snake pillar now. If so you can kill them and you should find a key on one of them. Only other option is go back to crypt and search for where you dropped it or you can email Jroby@arkane-studios.com and see if he can help you. I would search while you wait for him to answer if you go that way. Be sure to search walls and ceilings. When I lost stuff I would not be able to see it, but come to find out I must have slung it out of my inventory during a battle when changing weapons or whatever and it would be hidden in the pixels up above my head or in a wall. When the mouse goes over it the name shows up. Hope you get it and don't have to start over. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

If it helps, the key is actually called "Dagger key (quest item)" and as CM said, is not a regular key that fits on a key chain. Also, if you have that night vision spell it helps in distinguishing objects, which may help in your search for it.

Right.
I appreciate the info, but I remember the key and everything, I just don't have it anymore. And I don't relish searching the entire Crypt hi and lo for it, you know?
I will try looking for rebels by the Snake Pillar and hope they have another copy.
Thanks.
Any other workarounds that people know of? All I need to do is get into the Rebel camp without the Dagger Key... |

You are going to need the key later in the game again, anyway, not to enter the rebel camp, but for something else in the story. Of all the things to lose, this one is a two-part necessary quest item. " A searchin' we-will-go, A searchin' we-will-go " the good news is, that there is more than one copy. I have seen three so far, but the others are carried by rebels. Your best bet is to do what Cm was talking about. Take a look at what that guy who wanted to walk through walls was talking about in his post, maybe he figured it out how to go through solid walls? _________________ + A video game hero gone bad +

Oh no.
I have looked through the Crypt & haven't found it, not even sure it's there anymore.
--Heavy sigh--
Any other places people know of to look for Dagger Key copies? I checked by the Snake Pillar - a few Akbaa priests, no rebels.
(BTW, I'm playing the XBox version, if that makes a difference....) |

Try this, go to city and get the Shanny quest from the lady shop keeper. Do that as it involves those priests. Once they are gone and you have gone back to the city, come back to those caves and look for the rebels. I don't think you will find them until the priests are done with. See if that will work. It should. The rebels may be in a different section from the actual pillar also. Memory fails me, but they will be in that area somewhere. Hope this helps. Did you email the guy I linked you to? He has sent files to people with missing items for them as he is a game dev. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

Thanks all for ther suggestions -
I will try finishing out the Shanny quest completely, and then go back to look for rebels to kill and loot! (plese, please, please, please,....)
I did email that guy, and he got back to me, but I'm playing the XBox version, so I'm out of luck there.
I'll try that walk-thru-walls thing, too, if all else fails (though I don't know if it's do-able on the XBox version,) but it sounds like I actually need the Dagger Kay again later, too....

It's true you need the dagger key later, but once you are in there, (I did not get into this in the last message) - you can pick a fight with the rebels and get them all pissed off at you, and one of them that you nail down there has one, but I forgot who. I think it's the bald guy, he's like their captain or something. -- Important- don't kill Alia! Yes, she has a key, but you need her later on. and, after you get all the guards trying to kill you, don't get too close to her front door, she'll try and bum rush you, too, but she won't come out of her house as long as you don't show your face right in front of her, and she'll be cool for later in the game. Fight the guards down below where they are sitting around eating. Just don't go up the stairs and you'll be fine. - tip- the Harm spell is great for this.

uhh... i need alia for later on?! what if i killed her..? and all the rebels..?
i couldn't be bothered going all the way back to the crypt just to get some stupid sheild and then come back to the rebel camp to get the cool shiny ring thingy, so i just killed all the rebeles (i mean, they ARE rebels.. so i should get a reward from the king, ryte?? lolz)..
yeah, so i killed all the rebels including alia (she was the first to go.. that hair.. ughh..).. and got the krahoz, and THEN wnet off to the crypt and got the sheild for myself
So umm.. why do i need alia later on? and the rebel camp key?? _________________ Knowledge is the key to success.. but you won't unlock success unless you USE that key |

There is a cut scene later with her. I may still happen, even though you killed her, I don't know, but it will not stuff the game I don't think. You will find out I guess. Actually I would be interested to know one way or the other.
As for game items and quests, you have all you need from her and the rebels. The ring and shield were it. So play on and see what happens and come back and share. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

Hmm, in that case the cut scene should happen, since i blew up carlo early on in the game to get his keys to the weaponry and the crypt.. but then he still comes up to the king to tell him about the second ylside attack on the outpost..
Speaking of which, for anyone who's REALLY desperate for easy XP, before this second attack happens, guess what?? if you kill off the guards at the outpost, 2 of them keep respawning everytime u go to the outpost before the second ylside attack.. plus everytime they respawn, they don't hate you.. not that that matters anyway.. the point is, it's an easy 200 XP plus 400ish gold coins for their swords every time you go there and kill them.. easy xp and money.. just keep some firballs handy and blast em off.. or if you aren't good at magic, use your sword, and go the hard way
It takes time tho, and it's a boring way to play, so i wouldn't recommend it unless you absolutely suk at this game and are really desperate lolz _________________ Knowledge is the key to success.. but you won't unlock success unless you USE that key |
