Therion - Dark Princess Naamah

@ Graham - Yeah, Ive heard a few of their covers, the original "Garage Days Revisited" was one of my faves by them, still is. The newer ones, no I havent, I was ticked off at them after the Black album and havent revisited them myself since. I just dont like enter sandman and all that, it really left a bad taste in my mouth and I havent been back since except for pre-black stuff. I did hear some St Anger last year, and that trainwreck just really drove the stake home, i hated it, its just utterly pathetic in my opinion.

I know bands change, but that doesnt mean they dont change for the worse

Prolly should check out the cd of covers you mentioned tho, i think they do some Mercyful Fate and Misfits covers on there, prolly worth a listen since they do excellent covers as far as Im concerned. Their own stuff tho, well that's another story...

Tiamat - Love in Chains

@Sammy: I still prefer Evanescence to Lacuna Coil, but that might be because I don't know all of the songs by heart from the Lacuna Coil album.
I've never really listened to Cradle of Filth. I did hear a song of theirs that I liked, but I can't for the life of me remember it's name.
As for covers, I don't always like them. Mostly because I don't like people messing with an original song that's good enough already. It's like those dance club albums that try to speed up slow songs and give them weird beats. It just grates on my nerves. Don't put my favorite songs through a trash compactor, dangit! It's rare for me to like a cover, but somehow that cover of Witchy Woman just sounded good to my picky ear.
The Tiamat album is pretty good. It's a more calm rock album, good for a rainy day. Several of the songs also have a nice mix of female and male vocals. Another plus for the album.

Right now I'm just vegging to my old reliable vinyl copy of Bitches' Brew. Damn, what a fine album.

Cannibal Corpse - "Disposal of the Body"

Horrible!! I pop in this Cannibal Corpse cd my friend gave me every once and awhile to see if I can find any redeeming qualities in it yet. Well, they have a good drummer, I'll give them that

I do like unrepentingly heavy music, and I have turned on a bit to the death metal "cookie monster" vocals at times, but i dunno, "Cannibal Corpse" is just overkill. I just find myself cracking up as I sit here listening to it. check out some of these hilarious lyrics -

no, forget it. I cant even type them.

@Ugly Prayer-

"Slobberbone"? lol geez ='.'=

Just when I was feeling weird for listening to "Cannibal Corpse"

@xSamhainx: "Slobberbone" came from a dogs chew toy. lol

@Graham2: Agree about "Gimme Back My Dog."

Slobberbone CD's: "Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today" and "Barrel Chested" are excellent if you like the alt country stuff. Good writin' and good playin'. Was somewhat disappointed with "Slippage" and "Crow Pot Pie."
Good listening guys.
