I may be wrong, as there are many rumors going around.

Hardware T&L is fully implemented in GForce2 cards, but GForce3 have ofcourse newer version. But problem will be in other new technology...

Jaz
About GForce4:
there are at least 4 types of GForce4 cards, one is between GForce2GTS and GForce3, one is around average GForce3 and two are above strongest GForce3.

This game is still not out. So maybe when it will be, GForce3 cards will be much cheaper.

I can't see the price dropping drastically on GF3 within the next two months. Then again, this being Bethsoft... I probably have another year. Heh.

They may be much cheaper, but I doubt I will be much wealthier.

Just to warn people, don't go and get a Geforce 4 MX. The mx cards are poor performers and not worth it. If you get a Geforce 4, get one of the titanium versions(such as the 4600).

This is my final word to discussion about GForce 4 graphic cards:

Version of GeForce 4 Ti

GeForce 4 Ti 4600 GeForce 4 Ti 4400 GeForce 4 Ti 4200
Core 300 MHz 275 MHz 225 MHz
Memory 650 MHz DDR 550 MHz DDR 500 MHz DDR
Memory size 128 MB 128 MB 128 MB
Recommended price 399 USD 299 USD 199 USD

As you can see:
- 4600 will be strongest grahpic card, it will replace GForce 3Ti 500
- 4400 will replace normal GForce 3Ti cards and is not avalaible yes, maybe from april
- 4200 same (or nearly same as) GForce 3Ti 200

P. S.: I do not know way it make such big gap before table (I didnt find mistake in my html code ).

Yes I know it supports that for playing DVD movies but I don't think it supports that for playing games. It's just 640x480 AFAIK.

I chose Geforce4 Ti4600, too bad that it costs shitload of €'s. Prices here would be around 599 to 650 €, i preordered it, and i should have it at the end of this week. I'm just wondering, what will be the final price So that will be the pc version of morrowind for me.

I think it's rather steep for an RPG to require a GF3? Are there FPS games that require a GF3?

They say that the Geforce2 won't work, as you need some newer form of hardware rendering.

Very inaccurate comment there.

The game will run perfectly fine on a GeForce 2, Voodoo 4, Voodoo 5, and any other video card where you can muster 16+ megs of memory.

The GeForce 3 statement is in reference to the specific features being designed into the game as OPTIONAL visual enhancements that you can only see with a GeForce 3 or 4.

Designing a game to only work for one style of video card is a death sentence, just look at Ultima 9.

Sorry, I was apparently reading from forums which are not the most credible of places, though it will be sheer pain at max resolution with 8 minions following you.

I never play at max resolution. Usually makes the text too small to read rapidly on a monitor (at least for me).

Yes, it is true about too small text in high resolutions.
However there are several games with resolution-independent text (for example Undying). I do not know why there are just few such games.

My educated guess is that the graphics designers are too lazy to do a font for a different resolution, and they don't want their precious font to be scaled, with the antialiasing and blurring that results.
