Just thought people might like to know that the Gothic 2 Gold Edition is starting to ship from Amazon. I should have mine either tomorrow or at the latest Monday. I'm guessing the boards will become quite popular again soon. _________________ I am Heaven sent, don't you dare forget... |

Yeah, Amazon finally confirmed that my order shipped as well. Hopefully it'll arrive in time for Thanksgiving break. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

My copy should arrive from Amazon tomorrow...can't wait. Looking forward to having a nice 4-day play session over the upcoming holidays. It's pretty silly, but I've been waiting to play this game since October of 2003. |

I read a few people received their games from Amazon. Did anybody see it on the shelves yet? _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Unfortunately not. I have been chomping at the bit awaiting its arrival at Gamestop. Pre-paid for it and still waiting. Have not checked today yet as I am still waiting for them to open. |

Just some quick Gothic II: Gold tidbits:
>> Included with the release are 4 CDs with (I assume) the original German/UK CD art. (brown/wood paneling) They are labeled 1-4, but the 4th disc is actually a separate install for NotR. No jewel case sadly, though I wasn't expecting one.
>> With the expansion installed, the game is brought up to version 2.7 which is the same as the Bontonland release - though I swear the .exe is tweaked a little. For example, a few widescreen resolutions are supported via the video options menu, which I'm pretty sure weren't available with the import version. It also installs over the original Gothic2.exe, instead of giving you separate directories with different executables as with the import version. The various readme files appear to be updated as well.
>> There is a brief paper manual included in the box and several multi-lingual .pdf manuals included on the discs themselves. The paper booklet is similar to the Atari US release manual, though slightly different in content and layout. However, the .pdf manual is by far the best and most comprehensive English manual I've yet to see for Gothic II - ~70 pages, with lots of item, weapon, creature stats and useful info like potion/herb combinations. I've got them uploaded if anyone would like to take a look:
