Why dont you people like Aerie? She is so good looking! Plus she is a cleric/mage, works for me. Here is my party, and we kick total arse (in chapter 6 right now):
Ammon (surprise!) -- level 15th Mage!
Aerie (pretty and cute elf)
Minsc (this guy is funny, my main fighter)
Imoen (she's important; + need thief skills)
that Paladin guy found in the sewers
the Cleric guy once he does something
So, with 2 fighters, 3 mages, and 1 cleric, we can kill just about anything. We managed to kill a shadow dragon one time, with only 2 deaths as a result. I know, I know, i am a genius player when it comes to BG tactics.  I have found that having yer main character as a regular Mage (no specializations) is the coolest and bestest way to win. At least, thats my preference. Everybody plays different, i guess.

Or just have Jan Jansen in the party. He'll 'step up' with anyone in the group at one time or another.
He's merciless against Keldorn. Relentless against Minsc. Brutal against Edwin. Annoying to Haer Dalis... anyone will taste his gnomish insult comic tongue at one time or another.
But yet... the hair pulling and jealousy among the three women is amusing... for a little while...

I leveled up my characters a little, then i returned... casted haste and some other spells, i think i killed the trolls on the first try this time. |
