Key for Sewers in Dock area

1. I thought I'd looked everywhere in this area, but I need to open the gate in the sewer building that leads to where Callick(?) is hiding. Where is the key? I can't get in there any other way - the sewer grate is locked too.

2. Also, to join the mage guild, I have to find four items. Do I have to pick them up in the right order? I misread the journal entry and picked them up in a different order.

I'm off to do the Beggar's Nest right now, but I will need to get into that sewer real soon.
