Doug Church joins EA

While not likely to be RPG-related (what was EA's last cRPG? I'd have to think), some readers might be interested to know that ex-Looking Glass and Ion Storm guru Doug Church has joined EA as the Executive Producer for their LA studio, according to Computer Games. Hopefully at least a tiny bit of the genius will rub off.

Why? Simple, money...

With this news, and the recent distribution agreement between EA and Valve (the people behind the Half-Life series), I'm starting to wonder if there's someone not bought by EA when the year ends...

And for the record, I HATE EA. It's not because they're "big", it's simply because they are the main cause this industry is now 95% of mediocre crap with 7 expansion packs on top of it.
Remember Origin? Westwood? And many others...

There's always the option that having a good-guy on the inside is a good thing.
