A great game, worth a look by everyone

I’m a tester for VO, now a subscriber, and I’ve been really pleased with the game.
What I like about the game.

The ships are customizable and there is new equipment available every time you earn a license level. The first ship looks like a VWbus but it was explained to me that as a free ship it has to be ugly. This means getting blown up would damage your xp or bankaccount as you're learning.

When I got to level 1 combat I was able to buy a cooler looking ship. Many people opt for a fighter Vulture but as a trader/hunter I prefer the Wrath which has a larger cargo hold.

It doesn’t feel like a leveling treadmill because by level 5 you have access to a lot of ships and equipment. You can go higher in levels but you don’t have to.

You can develop your character any way you want. I’m a trader who does some fighting on the side. I’ve joined a guild and we will finish writing our charter soon. I also have 1 student who I'm menoring.

The stations are all different and the sectors have special effects. In one area everything has a purplish glow because the nearby star is very dim. I especially like one large mining station where you actually fly into the asteriod to dock!

The server seems extremely stable which is very important to an on-line game. I've experienced only minimal lag.

The developers seem to listen to our suggestions on the testing forum and are always giving us new stuff to try out. If there is a bug they usually respond within a couple of hours and provide great customer service

The players can develop their own ideas and you don’t have to stay on a scripted path.

The community is VERY helpful and will jump in to answer questions, mentor, give hints, etc.

There is a free 8-hour trial available and I’d suggest downloading it and trying out the game. All I ask is that you use the full trial period before making your decision to stay or leave.
