Mouse control? Keyboard codes in the .ini? |
|
Hello only forums that exist for Gothic! Jeeze the game isn't even very old and it has virtually NO community! I guess they screwed themselves over by not making an editor for the game...
ANYHOW I fiddled around with the .ini, and I'd like to assign my mouse buttons and scroll wheel to certain features. I'm hoping that:
A. A program has been released that allows this.
B. Some nice individual has released a code sheet for all the keyboard/mouse controls.
So which is it - A or B? Or am I gonna be outta luck? I appreciate any help you can give me! On another note... Where does a guy get the English patches for this game? The site the main page takes me to is down - I have 108k, but the readme says I need 108 installed first, and I've heard of 108j that folks want for some reason. Little help here please?
Thanks ahead of time!

There is a developers' mod kit for the game, by the way... i.e., an editor. _________________ Jaz |

Where can one get this mod kit? Also if one is out, what happened to the Gothic community? Everyone get bored in two years?
BTW as I said the main page download links are down - I can't get to the patches from there. Dunno where to look here

You'll find all of our Gothic I files here, including patches, some mods and the mod player kit:
Click me.
As for the dev mod kit, you need to PM NicoDE. _________________ Jaz |

The Gothics have a big German community. Most people here moved on to Gothic 2.
All keyboard commands can be found in JemyM´s FAQ.
1.08j is the release version. It includes all German patches except 1.08k. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Thanks everyone for your help! Just a few last concerns ATM...
#1. Is the 108K patch the latest patch for English and German - so I no longer need 108j or 108 or anything like that?
#2. Where is the FAQ with the keboard commands?
#3. What's this Gothic Vis that I decided to download at a whim?
Thanks again - I really do appreciate it!

I appreciate all the info - I still need to know about the patch. Just to be sure I'm referring to the keycodes in the .ini that correspond to the keyboard - that's what I'm after. I figure if I know what codes work with the mouse buttons I can then assign the mouse buttons to an action.

The 1.08k patch is, if I remember correctly, the one fixing Radeon problems, i.e. a patch which should be installed only if you have a Radeon card and video trouble with the game. All other (German) patches are integrated into the English language game version (no patch required). _________________ Jaz |

So that means I need the 108j or 108 patch - and there is no download link here. So where in the heck can I get this? Can someone if they have it upload it spomewhere and give me a download link or something?
Please?

No, all it means is - you don't need a patch if you don't have the German version. The German patches all adressed bugfixes which were already implemented in the later English version. You might say the English version came pre-patched. I didn't recon you had the German version.
For the German patches, look here:

So the English version is pre-patched, and I don't even need the 108K patch installed? AWESOME! Now it's time to play this sucker...
Thank you for all your patience - I am a bit hard-headed...
