okay...before time pressures become an issue for gothic 3 i want to wish for new weapons, shields, and double weapons. _________________ "The origin of things, if things have an origin, cannot be revealed to me, if revealed at all, until I have travelled very far from it, and many revolutions of the sun must precede my first dawn. Thinking about Gothic 3 already? _________________ =Farseer=

Do you go right? Or do you go left? A simple decision, yes? No ambiguities. Only the dream of the path not taken! And so one might stand in this place and contemplate for a long while. What will I miss if I go left? What will I lose if I go right? And in my indecision, have I chosen a worse fate? |

Dual Weapons is possible in Morrowind. Someone released a plug-in for it. Very fun. |

did someone use mw and very fun in the same post? how is that possible. even with dual weapons mw would never be very fun. maybe mildly dull but surely not very fun. all weapons in mw are the same. if you look at your second sword it acts more like a shield than a sword. i don't think we can give any credit to bestheda for the double weapons all credit needs to go to the creator of the mod. _________________ "The origin of things, if things have an origin, cannot be revealed to me, if revealed at all, until I have travelled very far from it, and many revolutions of the sun must precede my first dawn. Woah, hey now...no need to jump all over MW. And I don't know which plug-in you saw but in mine you can actually deal damage with the 2nd weapon. |

@kado, i must not have been using your mod. i think the only saving grace in mw is the ability to modify. the community has done more for mw than the developers. it is a sad state of affairs, but i had more fun trying out mods than i did playing the game. i have to admit that there are some really clever mods out there. but, this is the gothic2 forum not the mw forum & i fear i may be slipping off topic.
i would still love to see the shields & a diverse assortment of weapons in gothic 2. however, if i could only have one weapon i think the two handed swords in gothic are a good choice! _________________ "The origin of things, if things have an origin, cannot be revealed to me, if revealed at all, until I have travelled very far from it, and many revolutions of the sun must precede my first dawn. One thing that really peeved me off in Gothic was that in the temple, every second room had another really cool sword in it. Ok, ok, every third room. Yet none of them mattered. They were all wasted in the temple. Hell, I wish there were more damage 70 swords out there and readily available by doing something hard.
The game had bunch of logical holes in it like that. E.g. in order to get into the old castle, or whatever it's called (the place full of harpies that has a bridge golem guarding it), you need to get the orcish hammer (damage 50). Once you cleared the whole place and ended up on the 4th floor, you find your prize which is... a sword with damage of 46??!! Umm... what am I missing here?
Even if they just redistributed the items currently in the game, and possibly made adjusted them slightly, and made them unique to get... I think you'd get a lot of milage out of it. Some of those swords looked really cool. Why not make them rewards for side quests? Something you can't just pick up off the ground, but actually need to complete a quest to obtain. _________________ (@) |

When I first played, I didn't have the hammer... so I ran past and got Lester to help me. _________________ Make good choices. |

You can remedy pb's item placement mistakes by simply being clever. When I first played Gothic, I ran up the mountain directly above the old castle. With a 'lil help from the "falling bug" (hold r or l when falling from extreme heights) I was able to pick the chest and get the sword at a very low lvl. Don't even think 'bout tryin to fight the golems and the harpies at the moment, just grab your spoils, jump in the river, and wash up in the sect camp! _________________ "Who is more the fool-the fool, or the fool that follows?"

Heh, that's pretty darn clever. I'll have to try that. _________________ = Member of The Nonflamers' Guild =

Well, Shoegazer, you can get the orcish hammer with less trouble and no exploiting of bugs. And once you have it, you can actually kill those bloodhounds with it at level 3 or 4. And the bridge golem. And harpies. _________________ (@) |

Wielding Shields and double weapons certainly sound very good. But PB don't seem to be very keen on it. Too much change to the battle algorhythm, I guess. At least they've allowed us to parry. Sort of like using a shield.
Anyhow... I sometimes felt battling was frustrating in Gothic, but of course after getting a more powerful wepoan and better shield... you tend to forget the older woes. |

hey, not to change the subject too much but i would love to see them change the character depending on the camp you join. for example, in gothic 1 when i joined the sect i never got my head shaved or any cool tatooes. so, in gothic 2 (i know i know, there won't be any shields) i would love to see them not only add shields but also change you character depending on the group he latches onto. _________________ "The origin of things, if things have an origin, cannot be revealed to me, if revealed at all, until I have travelled very far from it, and many revolutions of the sun must precede my first dawn.
