Feel like a change from traditional fantasy? Corwin takes a look at the Chinese-themed prequel to 'Prince of Qin' from Object Software - 'Seal of Evil'. Here's a snippet:<em><blockquote>Fear not, the manual isn't the best thing about the game, but its obvious quality is an indication of things to come. This is a game you will either absolutely love for its internal complexities, or completely dislike for its many faults. It's definitely a 'horses for courses' game; and is certainly different from a standard DnD experience. Well, guys, I bought the game based on your review. The only problem is that it's practically unplayable on a machine that can run Neverwinter Nights at 1600x1200 without a hitch. The same machine is stuttering, choking, gasping, and hanging up with SoE at 800x600 with lights and transparency turned off. I understand how to avoid the godawful voice acting by judicious use of the mute button, but how did your reviewer compensate for Object Software's unbelievably crappy coding? |

I'm really surprised to hear this, I had no problems whatsoever of that nature. The game played well and smoothly for me with everything maxed out. My system specs are listed at the end of the review. I'd suggest contacting the support dept at GMX Media. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Just to follow up on this, I wrote a hands-on preview prior to the release - and I didn't have any trouble with the code they provided. Perhaps it doesn't like certain configurations that we don't have? _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

Figured it out. I have a secondary Radeon card which was, apparently, causing the trouble. Disabling it before running the game restored normal frame rates. I have no idea why it worked, but whatever, it did. |
