Nothing yet, we're still waiting for the patch. The scripting problems are annoying, rather than devastating. It's more a question of making sure they don't break essential quests. Let me give you an example. When you complete a quest for a particular NPC, you get a special reward which you need for something else. However, if you buy and sell with this NPC before completing the quest, the scripting overwrites his old inventory with a new one and deletes the critical reward when it does so. Only playtesting discovered this scripting bug.

Here is an update by Corwin from the Grimoire page as of a few days ago:

"Not much is happening while Cleve works on the bugs. He's been busy with RL work, but is still working steadily on fixing everything!! We'll let you all know or he will just as soon as there's news!!"

Also Cleve sounds pretty snowed under right now with multiple projects. I'd say that means check back in a month or so. Also it seems Grimoire probably won't be delivered this year. Maybe before spring? We'll see.

Not sure I'd give up on a Christmas release just yet. Probably safe to assume it won't be much before that, though (IMO).

Cleve has just posted an short update for the Beta testers. Basically, since the biggest single hassles involved NPC scripting, he has decided to port them all to another, but very similar scripting language. He expects that to be finished in about 2 more days. He hopes this solves nearly all the major bugs. I'll update this again once more is known.

So how's things going ? Did the new scripting language work out ok, and did it squash the major bugs ? The last post said that should happen in a couple of days, but its been 20+ days now with no updates.

Is there still any chance this thing will see the light of day this year ?

The new NPC scripting language is going well. Most of the NPCs have been updated, as best as I can tell.

Cleve told us that he was presented with a contract programming job. Since it's always nice to make a buck or two in order to better pay the bills, he took the assignment. That means that Grimoire has gotten bumped into second place until the paying job is done.

My personal opinion--and it's strictly my opinion, folks--is that the odds of seeing Grimoire by Christmas (which I've been predicting for a while now) have dropped from 75/25 to about 50/50.

It's funny how there's more information about the status of the game here than there is on the game's webpage itself.

Several people from here are Beta testers for the game so we have inside information. We naturally share that here.

Corwin, have you guys heard anything from Cleve? I know he's busy with life stuff, but has Grimoire grinded to a complete halt? Are we back to waiting many years? Is Grimoire back in the Vaporware category again?

Thanks.

Donald

Currently I have no news. However, I'm overseas at the moment, but once I return, I'll phone Cleve and ask him what is happening!!

Well, looks like its actually 0/100 once again. This game should never be discussed again
