How will my system perform? |
|
Anyone have any idea how my system will perform with Morrowind?
AMD TBird 1.33 GHZ
392 Megs sdram
Geforce 2 GTS
Will I miss out on nice effects without a Geforce3 / Radeon 8500 or higher? |

As far as I know, the GeForce 2 doesn't support pixel shading. No pixel shading = no water effects--at least that's what I've gathered. I'm faced with the same dilemma. _________________ ''Perhaps I'm old and tired but I always think that the chances of finding out what really is going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is to say hang the sense of it and just keep yourself occupied. No GForce3 = no water effects
one GForce3 = at least 10 000 krones = 2x whole months solary = I will miss water effects, I will not pay such a big amount for them, at least now. Maybe after one or two moths, if prices will fall down a little bit. |

Has anyone had it running on a 16Mb card? |
|
Is my notebook even in the ball park?
Intel Pentium III 700Mhz
384Mb
16Mb Ati Mobility
Not too fussed about water textures and I could live with 640x480.
Any ideas if Morrowind will work on this spec?
Cheers Folks,

Your graphic card will be big problem. I doubt you will be able to run it and I really doubt you will enjoy it. If you really want play it on your notbook, then I suggest to firstly try it (borrow from friend, take from shop where you can return it). |

Thanks Danicek,
That echos my initial throughts really.
I've had reasonably demanding games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Medal of Honour working flawlessly at 1024x768 with high detail but this Morrowind looks like one monster of a resource eater.
Fingers crossed anyway.

I've got almost the same system as you.....512 memory and GF2 Ultra....the game runs quite well. In fact, I was thinking about upgrading to a GF 4 for this game but the performance on my rig has given me second thoughts about doing so. |

how will MW run on my PC. Appreciate any comment.
P3 933Mhz, 320mb SDRAM, MSi 32mb GF2MX, SBLive!Value, 20GB 5400rpm h/d, Win ME.
I'm sure i won't get any nice H2O effect but i can live with it (for now). But what kind of fps should i be expecting. i'm ok with 20-30fps since in Gothic i was alwiz getting 20fps max and still run quite smoothly.
i'm planning to run MW on 1024x768x32bit. Cheers! |

MX card will have not nice effect on your performance. If you will follow our advices during installation and setting up this game, you will be able to run it and probably also enjoy it. |
