Sounds like Wizardry 9 will be in the works shortly |

....this made my day, according the interview with Robert Sirotek on this very website's front page:
http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10053&ID=598&sid=d1aacad0965d69cb19318b087b9c4e47
Wizardry 8 was a brainy, stats and puzzle oriented, old school CRPG the likes of which just aren't done much anymore, and the thought of another installment in the series makes me smile.... |

As much as I'm hoping for it, I'm not going to get too enthused yet. Robert was generally overly optimistic based on his comments during the struggle to get Wiz8 published (IMO). If Ian or Linda Currie say something, then I'll get excited. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Ya that interview was very confusing.
It had the owner of the copyright saying that wizardry 9 and jagged alliance 3 are very likely.
Then it had one of the developers of the game say that theyve all been unemployed since december and havent been working on jagged alliance 3 since then...
Sort of conflicting things. Actually contradicting eachother.
Who would make wizardry 9? It leads me to believe it would not be the same people possibly. Id like to see a follow up interview asking about what that one was about. |

Actually, I think it would end up being largely the same team. Strategy First has the publishing rights, and the Wiz8 team worked for SF for a while, which tells me they could be called back quickly given the right deal.
I don't know that there's a contradiction there. The development team wouldn't be hired before a publishing deal was signed, particularly since they got burned on that with Wiz8. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=
