How to strafe normally in combat? |
|
Hi all,
I played and completed Gothic 2 a long time ago, and just recently started Night of the Raven with the English translation patch. I can remember that the controls for G2 were a little "wacky" and took some getting used to, but I don't remember the strafing getting "locked" during combat. Specifically, I mean how whenever an NPC or monster is highlighted, you automatically strafe around them in a perfect circle as opposed to just moving to the left or right (I'm not referring to "locking on" to an enemy, like when you press numpad 1). I find this very annoying, especially when trying to deal with multiple targets. Is there some way of turning it off? |

I can understand that you are using W A S D pads, try to use UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT and you will have no more rotating problems, And you are right all this rotating thing is usless, if you will use it against an orc he will squash you for sure, if you are not strong enough. |

Welcome to our forum!
Maybe you like the alternative controls better. In them you have to explicitly lock on a target. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Thanks to both of you. The "alternative" controls work much better for me, though they take some getting used to as well. I think I can remember having to find this out the hard way last time I played as well. At least now it doesn't feel like I'm fighting for control of the avatar during combat.
Cheers. |

I don't know about you but I find the rotating very effective, espiecially to get critical hits. _________________
