Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - Review @ Gamespot

Another rave review of Oblivion, this time from Gamespot. Giving Oblivion 9.3/10.00, the reviewer has this to say:
What's overwhelming about Oblivion is how good it is and how much there is to it. Literally almost everything that's ever been done well before in past role-playing games is in here--done at least as well, if not better. From the quality of the story and character interaction to the pure thrill of the combat to all the pleasure to be found in the game's little details--the lock-picking minigame, the alchemy system, the way arrows stay stuck in their victims, the ability to eventually create your own spells, the informative full-color manual, all the different books you can stop to read in the game--these things combine to make Oblivion one of the single best, longest-lasting gaming experiences to be had in a long time. It's just too bad there's no multiplayer.
Read the rest of this very comprehensive review here.

^ I will be charitable and presume that you somehow managed to cut and paste the above sentence without noticing that the immediately following line is "Just kidding." Rather than saying that Oblivion should lose points because it lacks multiplayer, the reviewer is anticipating and mocking the knee-jerk assumption that a single-player-only game is somehow inferior -- that is, he's using sarcasm to make the precise opposite of the point your selective quotation implies he's making. As such, I think the most one can say about the line is that it says something about the reviewer's sense of humor, not the quality of the review qua review.

My bad -- I hadn't noticed that the "too bad there's no multiplayer" was in the initial blurb, so you probably hadn't clicked through to the actual review, which is where the "just kidding" was.
