Anime and EmperorBob check your CPU temperature after will be playing DS for a while. With your processors it can be problem. This game is really demanding.
Well, this is just attempt.

P. S.: to check your temperatures use programs supplied with your motherboards or download MotherBoard monitor here.

My pc is a
Athlon 1333 Thnderbird
256 Mb DDR SDram PC2100
Creative Soundblaster
Geforce2 GTS 32Mb DDR

Athlon computer produce more heat than other computers.
I'm using a Coolermaster CPU Cooler for AMD Socket a.
A big tower helps for your cooling
and my grafics card has its own cooler.

That way i make sure that the system doesn't gets to warm.

Anime and EmperorBob and one more advice, maybe better than previous.

Just make yourself sure that your computer has better cooling than ussually. Open case, open window, use some "home fan"... If it will stop crashes you will know where is problem.

Good luck

My PC does have pretty good cooling and my t-bird's temp at idle is usually 45 celcius. I do have auto-reboot enabled at 60 but that has not ever happened playing DS.

Unfortunately when the game locks up it is a hard lockup (No Alt-Tabbing) so I cannot bounce out to check mobo monitor and after you reboot your cpu temp drops dramatically. I have considered this as a possibility. But ever since switching the game CD from my DVD drive I have had no problems with lockups.
