Honest way:
Get skin furs,get claws, etc. and make swords.
Pick EVERYTHING you see lying around up, including all mushrooms,arrows etc.
TRADE as much as you can, so you won't give your own ore away, just trade needed stuff for a 500 mushrooms or so 
Dishonest way:
Beat up blacksmith, make swords and you won't need any cahs soon anymore.

I think Ore is basically worthless in this game. I finished last night and something like 30K on Ore and found nothing to spend it on.

Again, give me a RPG in wich you dont have enough money to buy the continent in the end of the game.
