right torch in Colonel's throne room

I'm on the island and need to open the secret passage in the Colonel's throne room ... Pedro said to pull the torches .. first the left, then the right. The left torch pulls fine ... but the right torch does nothing. I've re-loaded the game and tried doing the right, then the left, but the right torch still does NOTHING. Did I miss something that Pedro said or is my game glitched? Thanks ...

The torches are just notoriously finicky. Don't stand right up on it. Stand back a bit and try to activate it. You have not been misinformed, and I don't even think your game is glitched - it's just giving you a hard time.

Open your stat screen and type "Marvin" then press K and you should go through the wall you are facing.
