ID Monster won't work in M&MIX

I know, I know, I'm probably a weirdo for even playing this horribly-reviewed game. But I'm actually having a great time. There's enough of that old M&M formula to keep my occupied.

My problem is this: The Identify Monster skill simply doesn't work. The manual says it is employed by right-clicking on a monster.

WRONG. Right-clicking on a monster attacks the monster with a magic or ranged attack.

This happens whether or not you are in real time or turned based combat.

I checked the keyboard mappings. Lo and behold! It says "G" for ID Monster.

Doesn't work. It just gives me the monster's name. And my character is at Expert level. Supposed to get lots more info than that.

Anyone else have this problem? Am I missing something incredibly dumb here?

Hi there!,

I played this very under-rated game right through to the kind of surprising end. The end almost creeps up on you unawares, but that's another story!.

You are doing the right thing, using "G", all you will get is the monsters name unless

A- Your skill is very high for a higher level monster

B- You are IDing a low level monster with your skill at just expert.

What you have to remember is- make sure the guy with the ID skill is actually highlighted when performing your ID, this is what caused me to think it wasn't working.

ie, if Character A is the one with the skill, it must be his turn to take action.
