Hi!
I’ve just ended for my first time this amazing game and I want just give my own consideration.
Great product! It gives to the videogames world a great amount of innovations, first of all the great freedom you can sense wanderin’all around the colony!
Two things I can consider they could better:first of all the enemies who respawn very slowly(I can image that it’s only to improve the reailism, but sometimes I feel very bothering without encounter anybody during my journeys).
The second point is the ending:like someone yet said it’s not so great,or at least they could consider the opportunity of fighting directly the Sleeper.
However these’re only some tears in a full-of beauty lake( )
The very important thing is that I enjoied myself so much that I think I'll re-play it soon[actually I can't belive that this game was able to interrupt my daily ration of DaoC() for all a month long!)]
Well,that's all folks

Yeah the ending was unspectacular. I have a feeling that the devs were probably at the limits of their budget. I really wanted to see the barrier actually collapse...
... All is not lost though... they could make Gothic II start with a nice cinematic of the barrier collapsing...
As for not being able to fight the sleeper directly... I kinda liked it for two reasons. 1) It was very unique. Most games in this genere end with a confrontation with the 'big bad guy.' But in Gothic, you can't fight the 'big bad guy' directly - which I think was very interesting. 2) The ending remained consistent with the lore provided about the sleeper throughout the game. I found this refreshing. It was also funny to get too close to the sleeper and then fall asleep yourself. _________________ The Poster Previously Known As NeptiOfPovar |

Maybe we'll get to witness the fall of the barrier in the G2 intro! _________________ "Don't you call me a mindless philosipher, you old weight lob of grease."

I just finished as well. I really enjoyed this game too. I'm looking forward to Gothic 2.
I wish I would have had to fight the Sleeper in the end, maybe with the help of that nice Orc Shaman. I liked him.
I think I finished most of the quests but I kept waiting to find out more about the meeting between Milton, Diego, et al. Did I miss something?
I also wish they would have included the barrier coming down and everyone being able to leave in the end sequence but other then that, this was a great game.
After I get done with Wizardry 8, Dungeon Siege and Summoner 2 (if it comes out on time) I'm going to play again as a spell caster.
Thanks everyone for helping me with my questions. |
