To learn how to sneak, simply type INSERT CH in console. (Thanks, Nicode)

A 'Character Helper' will appear. This costs skill points, but simply ask him to give you at level 30.

You will recieve 900 skill points.
Sneaking and Acrobatics cost 10 skill points each.

This will only help you with a few things. Some of the skills will cost as much as 100 000 skill points. At this point, you'll have to ask someone to teach you how to script the Character files, or ask for someone to send you theirs.

Sneaking in Gothic is very helpful, but generally, you don't need it, so long as you got a good sword.
Acrobatics is just annoying.

Have fun,
Kevin

I know, I deleted that part before I submitted the message.

I don't know what to compare it to.

'Sneaking' is SNEAKING!

He gets low, and stumbles around.

sneaking is absolutely useless... i played the full version about 3 times (in german), and i NEVER needed sneaking. acrobatic is cool, but it can make the last level harder, for you jump longer distances than normal. all in all, attributes like stealing, acrobatic, huntin and so on are funny, but quite useless. you should put all skillpoints in strengh, mana, weapon-abilities or magic ...

greetings,
orphelia (world of gothic.de-forum)

I've found sneaking useful on a very few occasions. When my character was still a little weakling I used sneak to, well, sneak up on groups of enemies. You move a lot slower when you're sneaking and so it was easier to draw single monsters away from the group to fight them all one by one.
But sneaking is definitely not required (except for pick-pocketing if you wanna do that).
It can be fun and amazing though to see how good the monster and human AI works. When you start sneaking in a populated area people will get suspicious and if you do not quit sneaking they will eventually attack you.
You can also sneak up on sleeping Scavengers at night. They will not notice you until you come really close to them or hit them with your sword.

Acrobatics was really useful IMHO. I think the character moved a lot faster due to the longer jumps. It could have been an illusion but I think you do really move faster when you got acrobatics. You have to walk many miles in Gothic so it's not a bad idea to add that skill to your list.

I found acrobatics pretty useless. Itīs true, you can run, ahem, jump faster, but it looks somewhat strange and itīs not so easy to control critical jumps.
I did most of the traveling as bloodfly. Way faster and less dangerous than running.

I played it 7 times. (German Version) And I never really needed acrobatics. But I didn't use the bloodfly-spell as well...

I love the good old running...hours and hours

Yeah, as a bloodfly you can walk (better fly) over water, and fall from great mountains without a wound.
It's also a good way, to escape from Xardas' tower.

Maybe you can climb so fast and easy because of your wings?
