I have a small Trick that can quickly gain the music skill for your Bard.If your Bard's music skill > 85 && Bard's level > 18 , then you can find a new job for him/her ,because she can play every instrument in the game.(If I was wrong, please correct me.)

You can find a Viola de Amour(?) in the He'Li's .Then play it several times in the conversion to NPCs.Your music will easily rise to 90+ . But it still take a long time to reach 100 .

I love my Bard. Her music serves me well in the battle as well as in the wilderness. There are some strong magic instruments later in the game . If your music skill is high enough , your bard can cast such spell from those instruments at power level 6 or 7 for at least 3 times in nearly every battle. She also fights like a fighter.

Persinally I like to use the rousing drums every time I enter combat. Having hasted characters always helps.

Hrmmm Haste is nice but i think for the first round song. Its the instrument with Freeze All. No need for haste when nothing can move.

Nope. Haste first. Let 'em get close before you freeze 'em. That way you don't have to walk just to cut them to pieces....

I'm playing this time through with a bard, what instrument gives the freeze flesh spell??? I've found the Rousing Drums and a couple others...but nothing of freeze flesh!

i'd advice NOT to change the bard's class that early ... ok .. he IS able to play every single instrument in the game .. but the spells 'casted' that way will only have a power level of 1-3 ..
the power of the songs rises with the bard's level .. similary to the spells' power castet by an magican..

To actually use EVERY instrument in the game the bard's skill has to be >95. There are a few instruments very late in the game that require a music skill of 95.

Based on the info from the link I posted earlier (which I'm pretty sure is correct), the highest is skill=90, level=18. There are two others at skill=85, level=18. Regardless, I wouldn't change over the bard, but it's your party- save before you do it and try it for a while.
