i have 2 questions:
(1) where can i get the most current patch for Gothic at?
(2) why does Gothic take so long to load?
I have changed Windows Virtual Memory to be at least 800MB. This made a small improvement in loading time but not much. Here is my system:
AMD Athlon 650megahertz
Geforce4 420 64MB video card
128MB of RAM |

With the English version, you do not want to patch unless you are having loading problems.
As for the load times, there is very little that you can do, other than Defragging the Drive, running Scan Disk, turning off Anti-Virus Software while you play, or reducing the resolution/quality settings of the game.

Patch 1.08k can be found on GothicDot but, as Sauron said, you donīt need it.
I tried Gothic with 128MB. IMO itīs unplayable.
Loading times improve to 30-40 seconds on machines with 384 or 512MB RAM and a fast harddisk.
