I pre-ordered an X-Box 360 in May, primarily because Microsoft, Bethesda and my local Gamestop gaming expert (haw!) assured me that Oblivion would launch with the 360. I didn't believe it, but I wanted to. Well, you know what happened. Oblivion is officially delayed until February, although I'm predicting a May/June release just based on the difficulty of releasing such an ambitious game simultaneously for a new platform and the PC. I admit I love the 360 and I did pick up two excellent launch titles (Perfect Dark Zero and Condemned: Criminal Origins). I'm still primarily an RPG player, however, so it looks like a long, cold winter for RPGs on the 360.
Anyone else out there get an X-Box 360 or contemplating a purchase? I hear it just released in Europe, too. Anyone from across the Atlantic (I'm in the U.S.) get one? If you got one, what are you playing? _________________ Apologize, v.i. To lay the foundation for a future offense.

I got one on the 22nd. It sucks there is no Oblivion!
But I love Kameo. It's almost Zelda quality. My fave characters from this game are Flex & Thermite. You should give this groovy adventure game a try if you have a 360.
Yes, like all console launches this one kinda sucks because there are no strategy or RPGs. They even delayed Enchant Arms, the launch RPG for Japan.
And Dead or Alive 4 got delayed almost a month.
Some things never change!!!
This is gonna be a brutal gaming generation like the SNES vs Genesis days. I see myself purchasing both 360 & PS3. So far Microsoft has all the great exclusives. But I'm sure Sony will bring out the big guns early next year and announce tons of stuff. _________________ Between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities…there was an Age undreamed of, when shining kingdoms lay spread across the world like blue mantles beneath the stars…Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand…to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandaled feet. - Robert E. If anyone ever sees me walking into a store to buy a 360, please put a gun to my head until I do a 180 and walk back to my car. Thanks! |

My only hesitance about the PS3 stems from Sony's reticence to state the price of the console. Although it's too early to say for sure, Sony has been hinting around that the price could exceed $400-$500. Anything more than $400 is a breaking point for me--maybe. I am definitely enticed by PSOne/PS2 backwards compatibility. A $500 PS3 that plays all PSOne, PS2 and PS3 games doesn't strike me as completely unreasonable, especially when the latest generation of PC video cards are plowing into the $700 range. _________________ Apologize, v.i.
