Character plans / multiplayer |
|
I was wondering if any of you have any plans for your multiplayer characters? What type of character(s) are you going to play on the net and how seriously are you going to take the roleplaying aspect?
I have two characters I'm planning to play, one of them in ALFA if I get in, a overly-lawful good paladin and a rebellious magic user (a healer or a mage) gnome with a questionable morale.
Their backgrounds are a bit sketchy and even if they were ready, I wouldn't tell them , but I have a fairly good image of what I'm going to do with these two guys, depending on the campaign ofcourse. _________________ "If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance."

When I begin playing a multi-player RPG my first character is always the warrior type. Well...more like the "ME DESTROY ALL FOES WITH LARGEST WEAPON MY BULGING MUSCLES ALLOW ME TO CARRY!!" type of character. _________________ His thoughts are whack.

I have several characters I like to play, but the first and favorite is always Kaitlin the Darkeyed. She is usually a swordswoman with a disdain for magic, a flirty nature and definitely a neutral/good. She isn't above nipping from a bad guy, but she will defend an innocent to the death (of the bad guy ).
Kait has a long history that began in Meridian 59, filled out in UO, EQ and AC, and has lately been seen running around Balmora in Morrowind. _________________ Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

I always played magic-user types in my old D&D days, but since then I have kind of fallen to the shadows and like to play rogues and thieves.
I will be a Neutral Good Halfling Thief called Nimrod. I like the freedom of choice Neutrality affords a thief when deciding if it's right to steal from someone or another hehe! _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

My character will be of a weakling race. He will be inept at socializing, stealing, or the use of heavy weapons or armour. He will be good at blowing things up, running away, and holding a two pound glow-sword that will... glow and make him look scary. _________________ Make good choices. |

I'm for either a Ranger type, or maybe, just once I'll try a clerical/healer type - one who weilds a *big* mace . I've been promising myself to role play a healer for about 15 years now ... maybe this is the time to make good on that promise. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

I am going to be a battleceric so that I can get all the nice armors and then smite the undeads to the abyss. Or I can be a bad tempered fire wizard. |

Does anyone know if the went for the standard D&D ranger or the Monte Cook version?
Anyway I think they went for the first to get their D&D license, so I'll play a cleric. They do have deities and domain spells I hope. _________________ Kewl quotes:

Mythros - What is a "Monte Cook" version? How does it differ from a standard ranger? _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

It tries to overcompensate for the perceived Ranger 'weakness' in 3rd edition by supplying bonus feats like fighters get as THEIR class power. Only one feat every 4 levels instead of 2. It's not bad... but it's not needed. If you want some extra feats in lieu of ranger spells... pick up a few levels of fighter. That's the fun about Multiclassing in 3rd edition...
I have a lizardman Ranger/Barbarian/Fighter/Rogue/Foehunter who loathes the undead... he's my most extreme example of multiclassing in 3e, but it all makes sense. Of course, it's silly ... but he's got a large range of abiliities... _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

Their Ranger class should be the stock one, IIRC. Can't wait to try a Barbarian or a Sorcerer. I wonder if later plug-ins will have prestige classes... Hmm. I sense an Oriental Adventures expansion...
EDIT: Yes, I know BioWare only has a license for Forgotten Realms stuff. _________________ "It has been a grand journey- well-worth making once."

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode. I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

@Xen What role does skills play in 3e? Do they affect the game play significantly for other classes other than rogue class? |
