Hi,
Whenever i load a game i walk around a bit and it just freezes. I am pretty convinced it is not a hardware related problem, but i think it is the way i have it set up. I have music and reverb turned off, and it is on the lowest possible video setting. I am using Miles Fast as a soundprovider, but I switched to Direct Sound HW and had the same problem. I know there has to be at least one person out there who has had the same problem and has some type of solution, so please reply. From what I have seen of the game I loved it and I am anxious to play it again without the freezing.

The problem can be caused by everything, from drivers to heat. YouŽll have to wait for the one who solved it.

It may well be an overheating issue. Take at least one side off your computer case. If possible, position a small fan to blow room air through the case. Turn the computer back on and try again - if this solves the problem, they you know it is overheating. If it does not, then there is some other issue at work.

No.

I have a Lasagna BGA cooler installed in place of the standard GEForce 2 Ultra fan. I always have my case open, and a fan on it.

Yet STILL it freezes. EVERY DIRECTX GAME freezes.

So EVERY DirectX game freezes? You didn't say that in the beginning. If every DirectX game freezes then you obviously have something fouled with DirectX or your OS itself. You didn't mention which OS you are running. Get the most recent version of DirectX and reinstall that first. If the problem continues, you might have something hosed within your OS (the portion that is calling DirectX) in which case a reload of the OS might be required. Start with a reload of DirectX (latest version) first.

cd, writers are so common now and cd's @ $ .10 each . its too easy not to write all save games to a back up. and of corse all them other important files too:)
