I came to think of a very fun way to make use of the fact that the orcs and wargs around the castle don't attack you at the ram. If I say that all you need is a speed potion and a Rain of Fire scroll you can probably guess how I mean. I bet many of you here have already tried this, but I found no post about it.
You just take a speed potion, then run around the castle, getting as many orcs, orc elites and wargs chasing you as possible, return to the ram, and then use your Rain of Fire scroll. The Orc Warriors and Wargs die at once, but some Elites will survive with just a tiny bit of HPs left. Use your bow or sword to kill those. This is especially useful for mages in NotR, which is what I'm playing at the moment, since Orc Elites in particular are very tough enemies for you with the runes available in Ch 4.
After you've done this you just have to move round the castle and kill the shamans from maximum range if you're a mage, or the normal way as paladin / dragon hunter.
PS. Turn down your quality settings before doing this, the game will stutter a whole lot with all those orcs after you. Happy Hunting!
